MAT* 088 - Foundations of Quantitative Reasoning Credit(s): No credit Prerequisite(s): Qualifying score on placement test. Quantitative reasoning-the ability to critically examine, explore, analyze, and manipulate quantitative information - is an essential skill for academic and career success in the 21st century. In this course, students will explore real world situations and develop critically important numerical reasoning, proportional reasoning, algebraic reasoning, and statistical thinking abilities. Topics include mathematical problem solving, proportions, linear functions, mathematical modeling, descriptive statistics, and mathematics of personal finance. Lecture: 6 hours per week.
