Prerequisite(s): CST* 231 . This course provides the student with the skills and knowledge needed to detect malicious programs and choose appropriate risk mitigation techniques to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of mission critical data. The student will learn how to install, configure, and utilize open source resources to detect attacks and protect operating systems against malicious code including viruses, worms, and Trojans. The student will also learn how to use authentication, authorization, and accounting to monitor and audit access to network resources. The course will also prepare the student for the Security+ certification exam.
